Das Buch war einfach super langweilig. Ich mochte keinen der Charaktere, außer Vasilisa, aber das wars auch schon. Es passiert ewig lange nix, dann kommt ein bisschen Action, aber trotzdem zu wenig. Für mich war das ein totaler Reinfall. Zuerst dachte ich noch, dass es sicher besser werden würde, aber es hat sich einfach wie ein zweiter Teil gelesen, so als hätte man die EInführung in die Welt verpasst. Der Schreibstil hat es mir auch nicht einfach gemacht, sodass ich das irgendwann nur noch Passagen überflogen habe. Zu keinerm Charakter konnte ich eine Bindung aufbauen und es gab so einige Plotholes in dem Buch. Das Ende war ok, aber jetzt auch nicht super spannend oder so, es war halt da.

Es war kein Highlight für mich, aber insgesamt hat es mir wirklich gut gefallen. Effy und Preston sind interessante Charaktere und man merkt schnell, dass in dem Haus etwas nicht stimmt. Die Atmosphäre in dem Buch ist durchgehend düster und manchmal gibt es schon Szenen, bei denen einem mulmig wird. Schnell habe ich Vermutungen angestellt und mit manchen hatte ich auch recht. Einzig die Liebesgeschichte hat mir hier gestört, da sie nicht wirklich zu dem Buch gepasst hat. Aber ansonsten war es ein toller Einzelband.

Unfortunately, loathing Matthew proves more difficult than anticipated. He helps her move. He listens. And he’s kind of…hot? Dammit.

Athena ist meine Heldin. Ich habe das Buch so sehr gemocht! Es gibt wichtige Themen, witzige Momente und Athena entspricht nicht der Norm in Büchern und ist dick, doch das hält sie nicht auf, sie findet sich hübsch und auch Matthew findet sie schön und allein diese Repräsentation ist super wichtig. Die Streiche, die Athena Matthew spielt waren echt witzig und ich musste wirklich schmunzeln beim Lesen. Dann nimmt das Buch aber eine dramatische Wendung und geht in eine ganz andere Richtung. Dabei sehen wir aber, dass Matthew Athena wirklich liebt und sich immer um sie kümmern wird. Insgesamt war es eine super schöne Liebesgeschichte, dir mir viel Spaß gemacht hat.

Ok, also ich habe null Ahnung von Golf. Wirklich null und ich dachte auch nicht, dass es zu einem Buch passen würde, aber ich habe mich geirrt. Wells und Jospehine sind toll und auch wenn ich vom Sport gelesen habe war es nicht langweilig. Zwar ging ihre Beziehung ziemlich schnell und auch alles andere ging schnell, aber es passte doch und es war schön von den beiden zusammen zu lesen. Wells scheint zwar zuerst eher mürrisch zu sein, aber bei Josephine strahlt er und wird zu einem ganz anderem Menschen. Ich mochte das Buch, es hat mir viel Spaß gemacht.

Für alle die sich Sorgen machen, dass es hier nur um Fußball geht, ihr könnt beruhigt sein. Ich habe mit dem Thema ebenfalls nix am Hut und es hat hier nicht zu viel Raum eingenommen, wurde aber so in die Geschichte integriert, dass man es auch als Laie verstehen kann. Mich hat es nicht gestört und es war sogar ganz schön mal nicht von Football oder Eishockey zu lesen. Phoebe war mir manchmal zu viel. Sie ist aufgedreht, wild und nimmt kein Blatt vor den Mund. In der Realität würde ich sie nicht aushalten. Grace hingegen fand ich wirklich toll. Sie ist ein interessanter Charakter. Und die beiden zusammen sind unschlagbar, denn obwohl sie so verschieden sind, passen sie richtig gut zusammen. Am Ende wirds dann noch ernster, aber das war alles ihm Rahmen.
