Ich habe mich richtig auf das Buch gefreut, aber so wirklich umgehauen hat es mich dann nicht. Es ging mehr in die Richtung Liebesgeschichte und alles andere wurde in den Hintergrund gedrängt. Was ich aber mochte war, dass es Kapitel aus Yeerans und Lettles Sicht gab und man dadurch mehr von der Geschichte hatte. Bei Yeeran wars es halt wirklich mehr Liebesgeschichte und bei Lettle war es manchmal spannend, aber insgesamt auch nicht so toll. Von dem Krieg, der ganz am Anfang erwähnt wird bekommt man nicht viel mit, es gibt diese eine Schlacht und dann verschwindet Yeeran und Lettle will sie finden. Das war, danach sind sie bei den Feinden und planen immer nur wegzugehen, machen es aber nie. Ich gebe dem Buch drei Sterne.

Ok, das Buch war eine reine Enttäuschung für mich. Das Cover ist echt schön und auch der Klappentext klingt richtig gut, aber es hat schon mit den komischen Zeitsprüngen begonnen. Zuerst ist Violet noch ein Kind, dann wird sie erwachsen und es vergehen Jahre innerhalb weniger Seiten. Mal ist sie in der einen, dann in der anderen Stadt und man weiß nie, wie viel Zeit jetzt eigentlich vergangen ist. Das hat mich unglaublich gestört. Alexander war ein so blasser Charakter, wie auch alle Everlys, ich mochte wirklich keinen von ihnen. Am Ende bin ich alles nur noch überflogen, weil es so absurd wurde.

Am Anfang war es super langweilig. Man wird in die Welt eingeführt und die ersten 200 Seiten passiert einmal gar nichts. Danach wird es interessanter und besonders Kel hat da seine Momente, aber es passiert immer noch nicht viel. Und das ändert sich leider bis zum Ende nicht. Dem Buch fehlte es an einem Höhpeunkt, es hat sich wie ein langer Prolog gelesen und obwohl ich Kel und Lin toll finde und auch wirklich interessiert bin, was Kel weiter tun wird und wie Lin alles aufrecht erhalten will, konnte es mich doch nicht packen. Man muss am Anfang einfach wirklich durchhalten, denn es dauert, bis es gut wird.

Wie genial war bitte dieses Buch?! Ich liebe einfach alles daran, Freya, Bjorn, die Magie, alles. Zuerst beginnt es noch halbwegs ruhig, aber schnell hat man das Gefühl, als wäre man mittendrin, in den Kämpfen und den Gesprächen. Allein schon der Schreibstil der Autorin war grandios. Ich hatte beim Lesen das Gefühl, als würde ich Vikings anschauen, was positiv ist. Viele Dinge sind aus der Kultur der Wikinger übernommen worden und dann wurde noch Magie hinzugefügt, die ebenfalls sehr cool ist. Freya ist eine Schildmaid und muss ihre Kräfte erlernen. Ich fand dieses Herbe in dem Buch richtig gut gemacht und ich freue mich schon sehr auf den zweiten Band.

Hier mal meine Meinung von Goodreads:
Was ist das überhaupt? Es gibt kein Worldbuilding und die Insta-Love liest sich wie eine Fanfic aus 2010. Ich habs versucht, aber ich merke, dass ich das Interesse verliere und mich zwingen muss weiter zu lesen. Hat da überhaupt nochmal jemand drüber geschaut? Editing = 0
Ich habe das Buch nach 150 Seiten abgebrochen, ich konnte es einfach nicht weiter lesen. Es gibt keinerlei Erklärungen, was nicht verwunderlich ist, denn es ist eine Reylo-Fanfic, die es nun als Buch gibt. Ich hab die Star Wars Filme nicht gesehen und habe daher keine Ahnung, aber ich hatte das Gefühl, dass es gewisses Grundwissen Voraussetzung ist. Dann gabs auch noch so komische Momente. Die Charaktere treffen sich zum ersten Mal, wollen sich töten, aber der Kerl hat so schöne Augen, dass sie ihn einfach nicht umbringen kann. Cool. Dann planen die Rebellen irgendwas, sie fliegt zu dem Planeten und zufällig ist er auch da, und weil sie so schön ist rettet er sie, fühlt sich dann aber schlecht, weil er sie hätte töten sollen. Das ergab einfach alles keinen Sinn.

Das Buch war süß. Viel mehr gibts da eigentlich nicht zu sagen. Es war wie eine Mischung aus Bridgerton und Spin the dawn, also eigentlich ganz cool. Niamh soll Kleidung machen für den Prinzen und seine Verlobte zur Hochzeit, dabei kommt sie dem Prinzen aber immer näher, obwohl das nicht sein darf. So einen wirklichen Plot hatte das Buch nicht wirklich, die Handlung plätschert so vor sich hin. Es ist ganz nett für Zwischendurch und die Zeitung mit den Skandalen fand ich amüsant, aber nochmals lesen würde ich es nicht.
